Hey, Y’all! My name is Rosie, and this is the diary of my life.

I am currently in Jakarta, Indonesia with my husband Aaron, and three boys Dominic, Jordan, and Pierce.

We moved to Jakarta in June of 2014 but are originally from Texas and New Mexico in the United States. Three years later we are planning our exit from the Big Durin and repatriating back to the United States. Over the past three years our family has created loads of memories, been on many adventures, and have so many experiences, it’s hard to keep up with all of them. I wasn’t good at writing about all of our experiences in a diary or blog, but I have documented them with photos and a lovely electronic journal called social media.

When we moved to Jakarta, I wanted to document our story here, but then life became a reality. I have wanted to become a better writer for some time now, and while reading the book, Everybody Writes by Ann Handley, I finally got the point, YOU MUST WRITE EVERY DAY! So that’s my goal, writing every day for a year straight. I figured now is better than never! It will be great to reflect on life and our adventures for the past three years and write about new experiences when we go home.

My motto is to love life and travel often! We only get one life so we might as well enjoy and love it to the fullest right? I also LOVE to travel as often as I possibly can. I got the travel bug from my family. My grandparents loved to travel, my dad would drive us cross country to see the U.S, and the rest of my family likes to travel too! The past three years, my husband, boys and I had the opportunity to travel all around SE Asia and see some of the most amazing cities in the world, but we are excited to continue exploring the world with our boys.

Besides traveling, I love food and cooking, photography and sports! Yes, I think my husband hit the jackpot, but one of the best parts of traveling is trying food from all over the world, and then coming home to make it too! So hopefully I will share loads of recipes with you too.

I’m excited to take on the challenge of writing every day, share my stories with you and see where this blog goes. And more than anything, I would love to hear from you! Don’t hesitate to ask questions, tell me what you want to hear more about, and share with others!
